We’ve got one more surprise in store before Year Four’s daily posts launch next weekend, and this one is our biggest yet! Read on to learn about a project that’s been years in the making…

From the first moment we had the idea to include Spooky Story Saturday in our lineup of Daily Themes back in Year Two, I knew we had come upon a very special idea. I’ve always thought of myself as a writer and a storyteller, but at that time, I wasn’t doing much of either as my job in events had been keeping me especially busy. So when I sat down to write those first six stories, I was nervous about all sorts of things, but the prospect of getting back to writing, to doing something I loved so much and on Your Best Halloween Ever, no less, was too enticing to pass up.
I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: I will forever be both humbled and grateful at how well the characters and stories I’ve written for our Spooky Story Saturday posts over the last two years have been received. From my dear Witchy to the trick-or-treaters that haunt Shaded Oak Lane, the monsters who’ve walked the halls of Castle Bloodstone and the kids who’ve faced all sorts of Halloween horrors, they have found such a warm and welcoming home with all of you. In fact, one of the most frequently asked questions we get working on Your Best Halloween Ever is, “Where can we buy those stories?”
And up until now, the answer has always been, “Oh, they’re available on our website – we really appreciate the thought, though!” However, that’s about to change…

On Friday, October 1, 2021, we will be releasing Thirteen Tales for Halloween, a short story collection featuring all twelve stories from Spooky Story Saturday in Years Two and Three with an exclusive thirteenth story and additional bonus material you won’t find anywhere else! We’re still working out a few of the final details, but the plan is for the book to be available in paperback and eBook formats for all of your Halloween reading delights. And don’t worry – those twelve stories will continue to be available right here on our site, as well.
Okay, spooky friends, now that the candy’s out of the jack-o-lantern pail… AHHH!! WE ARE SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!!! This project has seriously been years in the making and to see it come together over the last few months has just been incredible! So stay tuned over the next few weeks as we’ll be sharing further details about the book on our social media channels – and of course, we’ll see you back here one week from today with our first daily post of Your Best Halloween Ever: Year Four!
