No show’s complete without an encore we always say, and for Year Six’s Bonus Playlist, we’re looking to the stars… with a little help from some of our best ghoulfriends!

Whether you fancy yourself an authority on astrology or know very little beyond your own sign, you have to admit that there’s something kind of fun about reading horoscopes and exploring the unique traits that are associated with each zodiac sign. From the little scrolls that used to be found at most stores’ checkout lanes to the abundance of apps that are available now, you don’t even have to look that hard to find your horoscope. Sometimes they’re spot on, other times… well, not so much.
But learning about the various elements associated with the zodiac signs can be like uncovering a whimsical blend of personality quirks, potential future insights, and a touch of mystique that sparks curiosity while you enjoy some light-hearted amusement. It can be especially fun to apply those traits in other situations, like which fictional characters embody the attributes of a specific sign or which moody bedroom most correlates to your sign (Admit it: You’ve seen those TikToks!).
And you know what else I thought of that would be fun to assign zodiac attributes to? Halloween songs!
So we decided to do just that. But while Devin and I have a pretty solid working knowledge of the zodiac signs, we also figured that if we were going to go with this idea for Year Six’s Bonus Playlist, we needed to bring in some reinforcements… Enter: Midge Munster and Miranda from Spooky Little Halloween. We approached them earlier this year about collaborating on a playlist of Halloween songs that we felt most represented the various zodiac signs, and they jumped at the idea!
From there we started throwing songs out that we each felt embodied various aspects of the twelve zodiac signs. We gave each sign three songs, with a zodiac-specific lofi tracks separating them as an intro of sorts to the next sign (and, candidly, so that when you’re looking at the playlist on Spotify, it’s clear which Halloween songs are which signs!). The playlist kicks off with a nod to the various seasons (think: It’s Aries seasonnnn!) and finishes with a classic hit that ties them all together. And while there were a few times, especially early on when I was having a helluva time finding a song to open the playlist with, that I wasn’t sure if this one would end up coming together, I have to say that the finished playlist really nails the various attributes of each sign. Of course, it’s not definitive, but as The Zodiac Signs as Halloween Songs plays out, I’m sure you’ll find yourself nodding along going, “Yup! That’s a Taurus!”, “Definitely a Virgo…”, or “Oh yeah… big Sagittarius energy there!”
